# Ommzy: a meal-planning app and website

How we built Ommzy, a family meal-planning app that plans the week, writes the shopping list and sizes each portion.

A meal-planning app for families. It plans the week's meals, writes the shopping list and gives each person the right portion for their goal. We built the app and its website.

Weekly meal plans for the whole family, a shopping list written for you and the right portion for each person's goal.

The public site that explains the app in plain words and leads people to sign up.

Meal planning and nutrition app

Over 1,200 recipes, 18 blog articles, 2 languages

Ommzy plans a week of meals for a whole household and gives each person the right portion for their own goal. We built the app and its public website. The site explains the idea in plain words and leads people to sign up.

In one home, people rarely share a goal: one wants to lose weight, another wants to build muscle. Cooking for all of them usually means separate counts, separate recipes and separate meals.

We built the app around one dish for everyone, split into portions by each person's body and goal. It plans the week, writes the shopping list by store with prices from 7 chains, and keeps health data in the EU only.

Ommzy now has over 1,200 recipes with calories, protein, carbs, fat, fibre and salt per portion, plus close to 350 exercises. The website works in Bulgarian and English, and sign-up is by invitation code for now.

The home page opens with the promise: cook once, and everyone gets their own portion. It then walks through the app in nine short steps, from the household and the recipes to daily tracking, progress, workouts, the weekly menu and reminders. Each step shows a sample screen, like one pot split into three exact portions.

The weekly menu and the shopping list build themselves. The list is split by store, with prices and offers from 7 chains, and leaves out what you always have at home. Reminders tell you when to cook, when to shop and when to take tomorrow's box out of the freezer.

The blog holds long articles on diets, weight loss, cooking ahead, shopping and family cooking, each with its sources and the strength of the evidence. Readers can search or filter by category, topic and reading time. The about, contact and legal pages explain who runs Ommzy, how to ask for an invitation and how personal data is kept.
